The master’s program in Counseling is based on a practitioner model of counselor training and is designed to prepare students for professional counseling roles in a variety of mental health and school settings. Counseling theory and practice are emphasized, while students also learn about research.
The degree awarded to students who complete either the Community Counseling or School Counseling option is the M.S. in Counseling. Both the Community Counseling and School Counseling options are based on the standards of the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
