Mechanical engineers are concerned with the principles of motion, energy and force. Mechanical engineers are key professionals in the invention, design and manufacture of devices, vehicles, machines and systems that meet the changing needs of our society. Graduates in this area deal with everything mechanical-simple to complex-from artificial limbs to supersonic transports; household appliances to precision instruments; space shuttles to mass transit networks; fuel cells to power plants; and lawn mowers to automobiles.
OSU offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. This is fully accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology under the criteria established for mechanical and aerospace engineering programs.
