Boat Design Instructions

The challenge consists of boat construction and a timed race competition. Teams first determine which class of boat to construct. Choices include conventional, air boat or other (open). A complete set of instructions for each boat category and a parts kit, (no battery included), will be given to each team of students.

Each team must perform a series of tests and checks before racing its boat. These tests include an electronics test, a buoyancy test and a propeller pitch test. In addition, the teams must also have a clean work station, complete the time trials and take a team photo.
