Books can be found in the OSU-Tulsa Library Catalog by author, title, keyword, or subject heading. We also have approximately 40,000 full-text electronic books. Note: To view NetLibrary EBooks remotely, you must initially set up an account in the Library.
Keyword searching allows you to AND terms together to produce a more focused list of available books. Once you have identified a book you want, note the location and entire call number to identify its physical location in the library. Call numbers ending in “eb” signify an electronic book.
Books in Print Database with reviews is a good source to verify bibliographic information and locate books published on a specific subject, since both print and out-of-print titles are included.
WorldCat Database is a listing of books cataloged by libraries worldwide. It is a good source to verify bibliographic information and to see what other libraries own.
Media can be found in the OSU-Tulsa Library Catalog by title or keyword. If you want a video or dvd, add "videorecording" to your search. If you want a cassette or cd, add "sound recording" to your search.

Selective access to entire periodical, journal and magazine articles are available electronically. From the Library webpage, click on Journals, and then click on General or a Broad Subject Heading. Each database is similarly designed to search by keyword, subject, author, title of article, and/or title of periodical but each database varies in searching capabilities like limiting by date. For further assistance contact a librarian.
Quick Search provides a cross-database search on a broad topic and is recommended for the student who doesn't know which database to use.
An index database only provides a citation (title, author, volume, issue etc.) to an article not the actual article. You should check Journal by Title to determine if the journal is owned electronically in another database or physically in the library. If the library does not own the article desired, we can order it from another library through inter-library loan.

“Scholarly” or “peer-reviewed” journals and articles are written and published by leading professors, researchers, theorists or practitioners in relevant fields of study. The article typically has original or expanded research on a topic. To understand more about scholarly publications view Peer-Reviewed Journals.
