Special Collections and Archives

Library Displays

The Special Collections and Archives at the OSU-Tulsa Library began with a generous gift of literary manuscripts from the
Oklahoma Center for Poets and Writers located here at Oklahoma State University. Special Collections expanded to include
the manuscripts of author Michael Wallis, who has written extensively on Route 66 and has penned biographies of several important figures in Oklahoma history. Special Collections also holds the papers of Cyrus Stevens Avery, generally acknowledged as the "father" of Route 66. The collection also includes an unpublished anthology pertaining to the Tulsa Race Riot by Ruth Sigler Avery, daughter-in-law of Cyrus Stevens Avery. The literary manuscripts of author Teresa Miller, executive Director of the Oklahoma Center for Poets and Writers, also reside in the collection. For additional information about the collections, please direct your inquires to the Library Director Beth Freeman.
