The Materials Science and Engineering Seminar Series is hosted by the School of Materials Science and Engineering. The seminars are free and open to the public.
All seminars will take place in HRC 153. The Helmerich Research Center is located near the main entrance of the OSU-Tulsa Campus, on the corner of Detroit Ave. and John Hope Franklin Blvd. Parking is available in Lot D.

Public Talk: Larry O'Dell on the The Tulsa Race Riot
Join Dr. David Gray's Tulsa Public Cultures class on Thursday, Sept. 14 at 4:30 p.m. in North Hall 212 for a talk by Larry O’Dell of the Oklahoma Historical Society: "The Tulsa Race Riot, A. J. Smitherman, and the Report of the Tulsa Race Riot Commission."

Free and open to the public; with special guest discussant:
Damario Solomon Simmons
Tulsa native, an attorney and legislative liaison for the Oklahoma Policy Institute; director of Oklahoma’s largest legal diversity program called the Pipeline + Program; also leads a MVP mentoring program that empowers African-American youth
Inspired by Wes Moore’s New York Times bestselling book, the film explores the factors in the lives of two young black men (education, parents and grandparents, teachers, role models, personal drive and community support) that made All The Difference in helping them be the first in their families to most likely escape poverty and secure a place in the middle class.
OSU Cineculture: Tulsa is a student organization dedicated to raising awareness through the use of documentary film and discussion.
