Dr. Mary Bea Drummond, director of marketing and public relations, accepted a first place Grand Award for OSU-Tulsa’s Spring, Summer and Fall 2008 class schedules. Drummond said she was especially proud of this honor because of the aggressive competition in this category since class schedules are a common tool for enrollment marketing.
OSU-Tulsa’s class schedules generally feature different academic programs each year. This year’s winning class schedules featured OSU-Tulsa merchandising student Cara Heckenkemper, education graduate student Sarah Ivie and Tulsa’s historic Golden Driller in an orange, OSU-Tulsa tie to symbolize OSU’s partnership and commitment to Tulsa.
OSU-Tulsa was also honored with a second place Excellence Award for a radio advertisement titled “OSU-Tulsa is Ready to Explore.” The radio ad promotes enrollment for undergraduate and graduate degrees, as well as expanded research opportunities with OSU-Tulsa’s new Helmerich Advanced Technology Research Center. OSU-Tulsa President Gary Trennepohl provided the narration for the radio ad.
This year’s annual competition included 412 entries from all levels of higher education institutions in the state. The competition recognizes outstanding work produced by OCPRA professionals in 30 categories, including public relations, development, audio-visual communications, publications, design, periodicals, writing, photography, sports and alumni programs.
