Sip for Sight Benefit Planned at OSU-Tulsa
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TULSA – Oklahoma State University-Tulsa will host the 18th annual Sip for Sight fundraiser Saturday, April 18 at 7 p.m. in the Main Hall Commons.

The wine tasting gala and silent auction benefits Prevent Blindness Oklahoma, a non-profit organization dedicated exclusively to preserving sight and preventing blindness. More than 70 different wines will be available for tasting, as well as cuisine from many of Tulsa’s finest restaurants.

Diana Edens, director of development for Prevent Blindness of Oklahoma, said proceeds from Sip for Sight help provide free vision screening to thousands of Oklahoma children every year. Edens said the event provided free vision screenings for more than 246,000 elementary school children during the 2007-2008 school year, an increase of 50,000 screenings over the previous year.

Wines will be available for tasting from wineries such as Alto Sur, Beringer, Casillero del Diablo, Castello Banfi, Centine, Charles Krug, Chateau Ste. Michelle, Columbia Crest, Domaine Ste. Michelle, Far Niente, Guenoc, Harlow Ridge, Hells Canyon, House, Joullian, King Estate, Langtry Estate, Madonna, Nickel & Nickel, Pine & Post, Rosa Regale, Rutherford Ranch, San Angelo, Schlink Haus, Sincerity, Valckenberg, Vertikal, Viu Manet and Williamette Valley Vineyards. A beer garden feature ales from Asahi, Anchor and Rogue.

Participating restaurants include Andales Tex Mex Grill and Cantina, Bistro at Seville, Bodean Seafood, BOK Center/Tulsa Convention Center, Celebrity Restaurant, The Chalkboard, The Garlic Rose, Charleston’s, Cherokee Casino and Resort Steakhouse, Doe’s Eat Place, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar, The Green Onion, Joe Momma’s Downtown, KEO, Kilkenny’s Irish Pub, Leon’s on the Restless Ribbon, Lola’s at The Bowery, Ludger’s Cakes and Catering, The Melting Pot, Oscar’s Gastro Pub, Starbucks Coffee, Te Kei’s Chinese/Asian Kitchen, Uniquely Yours Catering and Trays.
