Tuesday, May 05, 2009OSU-Tulsa Selects Grand Marshals, Readies for Graduation CeremonyFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASETULSA – Dr. Amy Halliburton and Dr. Andrew Rosa have been selected as grand marshals for OSU-Tulsa’s 2009 Graduation Ceremony on May 11. The honored faculty members will lead the procession during Monday’s ceremony.
Halliburton, assistant professor of human development and family science, has taught at OSU for five years. Her research interests include school readiness, early childhood special education and early childhood policy. She is the recipient of research grants from the Oklahoma State Department of Education and the Oklahoma Department of Human Services.
Rosa, assistant professor of history, specializes in research focused on the intellectual history, social movement history and women’s history of African Americans. He is currently writing a two-volume biography about scholar and political activist St. Clair Drake, a major figure in the history of American sociology and the sociology of race relations. He has been a faculty member at OSU-Tulsa since 2006.
OSU-Tulsa’s graduation ceremony begins at 7 p.m. in The Pavilion at Expo Square. Oklahoma House Speaker Chris Benge will serve as the keynote speaker.
Graduates should plan to arrive at The Pavilion no later than 6:15 p.m. to check in. Free parking is available in the lots surrounding the Expo Square.
