Tuesday, September 22, 2009Free College Planning Seminar Planned at OSU-TulsaFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASETULSA – The Simon Estes Educational Foundation will host a free college planning seminar for students and their families on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at Oklahoma State University-Tulsa.
The informational seminar will take place from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in North Hall 150.
Representatives will guide participants through the college planning process, including finding the right college, developing an action plan, completing entrance exams and the admissions process and paying for college. Dr. Valerie McGaha, OSU assistant professor of applied health and educational psychology, will speak about parent and family expectations.
Attendees can also register at the event for a drawing for a free Kaplan ACT or SAT test preparation course, valued at up to $899.
The Foundation is a nonprofit organization named for acclaimed opera singer Simon Estes and was co-founded by Jayne Reed. The organization is committed to promoting higher educational opportunities in any discipline for graduating high school seniors, primarily in the Tulsa area, by providing scholarships made possible by charitable contributions.
