Bike MS Ride to Kick Off Saturday at OSU-Tulsa
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TULSA – More than 600 cyclists are expected to participate in a 135-mile ride that begins at OSU-Tulsa then travels along historic Route 66 from Tulsa to Oklahoma City for the annual Bike MS Oklahoma Ride Sept. 26-27.

The two-day bicycle tour supporting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Greenwood Avenue, just east of Main Hall. Participants will park in Lot A. Cyclists will travel south on Greenwood Avenue for the event.

Greenwood Avenue will be closed starting at 5:30 a.m. until all participants have cleared the starting line shortly after 7:30 a.m. Greenwood Avenue is the only street on campus that will be affected by the MS Ride.

Cyclists will ride to Chandler where they will spend the night before finishing the race Sunday at the state Capitol in Oklahoma City.

According to the National MS Society, approximately 400,000 Americans suffer from multiple sclerosis and another 200 people are diagnosed each week. Proceeds from the more than 100 unique MS Bike Rides nationwide fund research for the prevention, treatment and cure of the disease.

There is a $50 registration fee and $225 minimum fundraising commitment to participate.
