Friday, October 09, 2009Access to OSU-Tulsa Closed from Detroit AvenueFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASETULSA – Construction on Tulsa’s Inner Dispersal Loop (IDL) has closed access to Detroit Avenue, affecting access to OSU-Tulsa from eastbound Interstate 244.
OSU-Tulsa officials encourage students, faculty, staff and visitors to take one of several alternate routes to campus. The primary entrances to campus will be from John Hope Franklin Boulevard, Greenwood Avenue and Pine Street.
Drivers traveling eastbound on I-244 can still take the Cincinnati Avenue/Detroit Avenue exit. However, instead of traveling straight through the stoplight to Detroit Avenue, drivers need to travel south on Cincinnati Avenue for one block to Cameron Street; then turn back west for three blocks to Boulder Avenue; and finally travel east on John Hope Franklin Boulevard to the main campus entrance.
Westbound drivers on the Broken Arrow Expressway (SH-51) can exit at Detroit Avenue and travel north through downtown to Archer Street. Drivers can go east on Archer Street to Greenwood Avenue and enter campus.
