TULSA – OSU-Tulsa’s cowboys and cowgirls can avoid the stampede and enroll early for spring 2010 classes at the Halloween Enrollment Showdown on Thursday, Oct. 29.

OSU-Tulsa will be open extended hours for the event which will take place from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. in North Hall 130. Students can meet with academic advisors, enroll in spring classes and learn about scholarships and financial aid. No appointments are necessary.

Sandra Leppin, OSU-Tulsa academic advisor, said the event will also include a chance to win a $250 tuition waiver, a trick-or-treat route for kids, hourly prize drawings and free refreshments.

“Our students will have the opportunity to enroll early for the best selection of classes to fit their schedules and enjoy the evening with their families. Enrolling in college classes has never been so much fun,” Leppin said.

The drawings consist of four $250 tuition waivers, two each for undergraduate and graduate students. Winners of the tuition waivers will be announced on Nov. 6.

Students are encouraged to bring their children dressed in costume to trick-or-treat during the event. Leppin said OSU-Tulsa offices will be decorated in a “Wild West” theme and staff members will be handing out candy.

Free hot dogs and drinks will be available from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the courtyard between North Hall and Administration Hall. The hourly prize drawings will begin at 2:30 p.m.
