Photographer to Launch First Book Featuring People and Places of North Tulsa FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE TULSA (Oct. 19, 2009) – Award-winning photographer Don Thompson will launch his first book Nov. 5 at 5:30 p.m. at Oklahoma State University-Tulsa. ![]() Don Thompson Thompson has been documenting and photographing historical events and creating artistic features of Tulsa for more than 30 years. OSU-Tulsa is home to Thompson’s collection titled “Black Settlers in Tulsa.” The permanent exhibit, which includes 44 black-and-white photographs, is located in OSU-Tulsa’s Conference Center. ![]() The event is free and open to the public and will take place in the B.S. Roberts Room at OSU-Tulsa. Books will be available for purchase at the event for $24.95. OSU-Tulsa is located just north of downtown at 700 N. Greenwood Avenue, near I-244 and Detroit Avenue.
