Campus Compact honors OSU-Tulsa student for community engagement
OSU-Tulsa graduate student Pamela Pittman-Adkins was honored as the Community Engagement Professional of the Year by Oklahoma Campus Compact during the 2013 Heartland Conference on Sept. 19-20.
Pittman-Adkins is the founder and chair of the Higher Education Forum of Oklahoma, which unites Tulsa-area public schools with nine public and private colleges and universities and numerous community and civic engagement organizations. The forum develops collaborative and innovative strategies to coordinate, integrate and support the secondary to post-secondary educational pipeline.
Pittman-Adkins has entered her dissertation phase to complete her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration and Policy Studies at OSU. She teaches future teachers in social foundations in the College of Education at OSU-Stillwater.
