Laureate researcher to discuss brain's response to food
Cognitive neuroscientist Dr. Kyle Simmons will discuss how the brain reacts to food during a seminar tomorrow at 12:15 p.m. in North Hall 222 at OSU-Tulsa.
An assistant professor at the Laureate Institute for Brain Research, Simmons will present “Mapping the Neural Systems Supporting Food Motivation and Reward Inferences in Healthy and Depressed Adults.” Attendees will learn how regions of the brain respond to the smell and sight of food and how responses of healthy individuals compare to those who are depressed. Simmons will explain how advanced imaging technologies can identify underlying positive responses to food cues and triggers.
The seminar is sponsored by the OSU-Tulsa Center for Family Resilience and OSU Center for Health Sciences. A light lunch will be provided. For more information, contact Dr. Amanda Harrist.
