TULSA (April 1, 2010) – Oklahoma gubernatorial candidates will discuss and debate issues facing the state during a public forum April 7 at Oklahoma State University-Tulsa.
The gubernatorial issues forum will take place from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the OSU-Tulsa Auditorium. Candidates invited to attend include Congresswoman Mary Fallin, Lieutenant Governor Jari Askins, Attorney General Drew Edmondson and Senator Randy Brogdon.
OSU-Tulsa President Howard Barnett will moderate the forum, which is hosted by OSU-Tulsa and The Oklahoma Academy.
“We’re pleased to host this forum that will provide an informative insight into the needs of Oklahoma and the candidates who aspire to be the next leader of our state,” Barnett said.
Candidates will discuss policy issues such as forecasts for the 2012 state budget, education, health care and prison overpopulation. Audience members will have the opportunity to ask the candidates questions.
The Oklahoma Academy is a statewide nonprofit, nonpartisan, membership organization founded by Governor Henry Bellmon in 1967 to bring public attention to policy issues, provide objective, thorough research and act as a catalyst for positive change.
