OSU’s Tulsa Campuses to Offer Free Health Fair for the Community
TULSA (April 12, 2010) – Oklahoma State University’s Tulsa campuses will host a free health and wellness fair for the community on Thursday, April 22, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
“Fit for OSU. Fit for Tulsa” is the theme of the event, which is designed to increase health awareness through education and prevention. The fair will take place in OSU-Tulsa’s Main Hall Commons and is sponsored by OSU-Tulsa and OSU Center for Health Sciences.
The fair will offer a variety of exhibits and activities related to personal health, including free vision and dental screenings, glucose testing, diabetic foot exams and osteopathic manipulative treatment. Free physical assessments will be offered for balance, body mass index, body fat, cardiovascular fitness and flexibility.
OSU faculty and staff will provide information on living a healthier life and getting involved in wellness activities. Local businesses and organizations will offer product demonstrations and information about health-related products, services and providers in the community.
Participants may also register to win door prizes, sample a variety of healthy foods from local restaurants and take a tour of OSU’s Mobile Telemedicine Clinic.
