OSU in Tulsa accepting nominations for Icon Awards
TULSA (Jan. 25, 2011) – Oklahoma State University in Tulsa is now accepting nominations for the inaugural OSU Icon Awards.
The Icons for OSU in Tulsa recognize individuals who have demonstrated noteworthy contributions to Tulsa or to the OSU Center for Health Sciences or OSU-Tulsa.
“We’re pleased to establish the OSU Icon Awards to recognize those whose exceptional leadership and dedication contribute positively to our community and state,” said Howard Barnett, president of OSU-Tulsa and OSU Center for Health Sciences. “I encourage Tulsans to recognize individuals who have contributed significantly to the quality of life and education in Tulsa by submitting a nomination.”
Barnett said nominees should have an outstanding record of service to Tulsa or Oklahoma through their professional or personal endeavors. Nominees do not have to be alumni of OSU.
The winners will be honored May 23 at A Stately Affair in Tulsa, a gala that raises scholarship funds for deserving students who attend the OSU Center for Health Sciences or OSU-Tulsa.
