Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and bestselling author Quindlen to speak at OSU-Tulsa
TULSA (Sept. 8, 2011) – Anna Quindlen’s work has appeared on numerous bestseller lists, as well as two of America’s most influential publications – The New York Times and Newsweek. She’ll bring her stories of life as an author, journalist and opinion columnist to OSU-Tulsa on Oct. 6.
“An Evening with Anna Quindlen” will take place at 7 p.m. in the OSU-Tulsa Auditorium. The event, which will feature readings and a book signing, is presented by the Oklahoma Center for Poets and Writers at OSU-Tulsa and Tulsa Town Hall.
"Anna Quindlen is one of the most provocative writers of our time,” said Teresa Miller, executive director for the Center. “She's a brilliant novelist and essayist, someone who challenges us to live more thoughtfully and tolerantly as we develop a deeper understanding of ourselves and each other.”
Quindlen is the bestselling author of six novels and seven nonfiction books. Her New York Times column “Public and Private” won the Pulitzer Prize in 1992. She also wrote the “Last Word” column for Newsweek from 2000-2009.
The event is part of Tulsa Reads, a citywide reading initiative jointly sponsored by the Tulsa City-County Library System, Tulsa Town Hall, the Tulsa World and the Oklahoma Center for Poets and Writers at OSU-Tulsa.
