OSU-Tulsa teams with Verizon to collect used cellular phones for Hopeline
As part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, OSU-Tulsa is partnering with Verizon to collect used cellular phones for HopeLine, a project that provides victims of domestic violence with wireless phones.
Since the program was launched in 2001, Verizon has collected more than 9 million phones at locations across the country. These phones are refurbished and provided to local domestic violence organizations to distribute. The phones offer a way to contact emergency or support services, employers, family and friends.
Used cell phones can be donated at the Information Center in the North Hall Lobby through the end of April.
