OSU-Tulsa students holding drive to support wildfire relief
Oklahoma State University-Tulsa’s Alpha Phi Omega is hosting a donation drive Aug. 17-22 to support the victims of the recent wildfires in Oklahoma.
“Many of the families affected by these wildfires have a connection to OSU, and this is our way of giving back to them,” said Marci Parkhurst, president of Alpha Phi Omega and organizer of the drive. “We want to help our fellow Oklahomans who have been affected by this tragedy.”
The student organization will be collecting items to benefit Drumright Fire Disaster Relief and the Tulsa Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Burggraf Restoration has donated a trailer to collect the donations, which will be parked in Lot A east of Main Hall. Volunteers with Alpha Phi Omega will collect donations from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day. Collection boxes will also be available at the Information Center in North Hall.
Volunteers will be collecting non-perishable food, bottled water, sports drinks, toiletries, diapers, undergarments for men, women and children, kitchen utensils, blankets, school supplies and pet food.
