Harvard Sleep Medicine Expert to Speak at OSU-Tulsa

Orfeu M. Buxton, Ph.D., will present “Sleep Deficiency Causes and Consequences” on Friday, Oct. 26 at noon at Oklahoma State University – Tulsa in North Hall 220.

Buxton is an assistant professor at Harvard Medical School and associate neuroscientist in the division of sleep medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He will discuss potential causes of sleep deficiency and the impact that can have on your personal wellbeing, physical health and family. Using laboratory studies, Buxton will also present research on the impact not getting enough sleep can have on metabolism and why getting enough sleep is an essential part of a healthy life.

The presentation is part of the Seminar Series sponsored by the OSU Center for Family Resilience, OSU-Tulsa and OSU Center for Health Sciences.

A light lunch will be provided. The lecture will also be streamed live to the OSU Stillwater campus in Math Sciences 310.
