Child nutrition, physical activity focus of seminar
The importance of physical activity and proper nutrition for preschool-aged children will be the focus of a seminar lead by a researcher in the Center for Family Resilience at OSU-Tulsa.
Joseph Grzywacz, Ph.D., will present "Physical Activity and Dietary Beliefs and Behaviors of Latino Preschool-Aged Children in Farmworker Families" Friday, Jan. 4 at 12:15 pm. in Dunlap Auditorium at OSU-CHS.
During the seminar, Grzywacz will discuss his research on the barriers to children's healthy diet and physical activity confronted by Latino-farmworker families. He will also discuss cultural beliefs about children's diet and physical activity and examine the quality of food and exercise that children receive.
A light lunch will be provided. The seminar is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Amanda Harrist, Ph.D., at amanda.harrist@okstate.edu.
