Grand Marshals selected for OSU-Tulsa Graduation
Dr. Laura Barnes and Dr. Xiang Fang have been selected as grand marshals for OSU-Tulsa's 2013 Graduation Ceremony on May 6. The honored faculty members will lead the faculty and student procession during the ceremony.
Barnes, associate professor of research and evaluation, completed her bachelor's degree in criminal justice at the University of Nebraska. She continued her education at Nebraska and earned her master's degree in counseling psychology and her doctorate in educational statistics and measurement. Her research interests include psychometric theory, multi-level construct measurement and educational assessment. Barnes is a senior research scientist with the Center for Educational Research and Evaluation at OSU and is a member of the American Educational Research Association, National Council on Measurement in Education, OSU Faculty Council, OSU Institutional Review Board, OSU-Tulsa Library Committee and is chair of the School of Educational Studies Student Affairs Committee.
Fang, an associate professor of marketing in the Spears School of Business, earned his bachelor's degree in psychology from Eastern China Normal University and master's in international marketing from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. He completed his doctorate in marketing at the University of Kansas. Fang, who joined the faculty at OSU in 2003, conducts research in brand extension and alliance, emotion, public policy issues and cross-cultural consumer research. He has received the Spears School of Business Richard W. Poole Research Excellence Award and is a member of the American Marketing Association and the Association for Consumer Research.
