Gift announcement set for Tuesday

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of OklahomaOSU-Tulsa and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma will make an announcement Tuesday regarding a substantial gift that will prepare students to be leaders in improving the health and wellness of Oklahomans.

OSU-Tulsa students, faculty and staff are invited to attend the announcement at 4 p.m. in the North Hall Lobby. All are encouraged to show their OSU Pride by wearing orange for this special day.

OSU-Tulsa to close for Thanksgiving holiday

OSU-Tulsa will be closed Thursday and Friday in observance of the national Thanksgiving holiday.

All academic services and business offices, including the Bursar Office, will close early at 5 p.m. on Wednesday. The OSU-Tulsa Bookstore will be open until 7 p.m. on Wednesday and closed throughout the weekend.

In addition, Subway and Mo Joe’s Coffee Cafe and Foodery will close at 3 p.m. on Wednesday and remain closed until Monday. 

The Main Hall Commons only will be open Friday for students who wish to study. The Computer Lab will reopen for regular business hours from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. The Library will also resume regular business hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.

Make the holidays brighter for local children

Cowboy TreeOSU-Tulsa is sponsoring its annual Cowboy Tree to collect clothes, toys and other holiday gifts for underprivileged children at two of the university’s Partners in Education schools, Academy Central Elementary and Roosevelt Elementary.

The Cowboy Tree is located in the North Hall Lobby near the Information Center. Those wishing to participate are asked to select a cowboy boot and then register their name, along with the name of the selected cowboy, at the Information Center. After purchasing one or more gifts, attach the child’s name and school to each item and return the wrapped gift to the Information Center by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 15.

Get informed on World Aids Day Dec. 1

World AIDS DayAn estimated 1.1 million Americans are living with HIV and one out of five don’t know it. OSU-Tulsa will recognize World AIDS Day on Dec. 1 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the North Hall Lobby. Representatives from OSU’s Center for Health Sciences will provide information about HIV/AIDS prevention, the importance of testing and testing locations in Tulsa.
