Oklahoma Writers Hall of Fame to honor P.C. Cast

P.C. CastAward-winning fantasy and paranormal romance author P.C. Cast will be inducted into the Oklahoma Writers Hall of Fame on Tuesday at the Philbrook Museum of Art.

The event will begin with a wine reception at 6 p.m., followed by a dinner banquet at 7 p.m. The event is presented by the Oklahoma Center for Poets and Writers at OSU-Tulsa.

Cast is the best-selling author of the paranormal “House of Night” series, which she writes with her daughter Kristin Cast. She is also the author of the popular Goddess Summoning books and other epic fantasy novels set in the world of Partholon.

Distance learning conference to focus on academic recovery

The Oklahoma Distance Learning Association will host their annual conference beginning tomorrow through April 28. OSU-Tulsa will host the webinar portions of the event.

The conference will focus on academic recovery, including a variety of strategies and tools aimed to help assist students who are on academic probation or returning from academic suspension. Gov. Mary Fallin has designated tomorrow as “Distance Learning Day” in Oklahoma. For a complete schedule of webinars and events, visit the ODLA website.

“Steps for Success” offers strategies and resources for earning college degree

OSU-Tulsa and Tulsa Community College are partnering to offer a free college information seminar on Thursday, April 28 for those interested in pursuing a college degree.

“Steps for Success” is designed to provide prospective students and their parents with strategies and resources to successfully complete an associate degree at TCC and a bachelor’s degree at OSU-Tulsa. The seminar will begin at 6 p.m. at the TCC Center for Creativity, 909 S. Boston Ave.
