Scholarships available for Oklahoma Academy Town Hall Conference

Oklahoma Academy LogoOSU students will have the opportunity to help develop policies and methods to improve Oklahoma’s economy at a four-day conference this fall.

The Oklahoma Academy is seeking college and university students across the state to participate in the 2011 Town Hall Conference Oct. 23-26 at the Quartz Mountain Resort in Lone Wolf. Participation in the conference is by invitation only and full scholarships are available.  

The Town Hall Conference is a unique opportunity for students to work with approximately 150 business, education, community and government leaders in a collaborative discussion that could shape and develop public policy recommendations. This year’s conference will focus on generating practical ideas to increase the attraction and availability of capital, optimize investments, increase productivity, expand quality employment and grow the personal earnings of Oklahomans.  

OSU-Tulsa undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to apply for the conference. The scholarship will cover costs for the conference registration fee, lodging and meals. OSU Cowboy Caravan to stop in Tulsa

Cowboy CaravanThe OSU POSSE is bringing the Cowboy Caravan to Tulsa on Tuesday, Aug. 2. Cowboy head football coach Mike Gundy and head men’s basketball coach Travis Ford are expected to speak.

The Caravan tour will stop at the Renaissance Tulsa Hotel, located at 71st Street and Highway 169. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the program begins at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $10 and kids 12 and under get in free. Visit okstateposse.com for more information.
