Groundbreaking degree program kicks off this weekend at OSU-Tulsa
OSU’s new executive Ph.D. in business program will kick off this weekend with an orientation session for students on Saturday at OSU-Tulsa. OSU is the first major American university to offer this program that focuses on the needs of business executives in industry, government, consulting and public service.
Students enrolled in the program, which officially begins in January 2012, will come from across the U.S. to participate. Courses will be delivered in an executive format over long weekends at OSU-Tulsa to enable students to continue their careers and pursue the degree full-time.
The mission of the executive doctoral program is to help experienced executives identify, conceptualize, research and implement solutions to organizational issues they are facing in their current and future career. To learn more about the program, visit the Spears School of Business website.
Middle school students to begin school year at OSU-Tulsa
Students from KIPP Tulsa College Preparatory will get a taste of university life when they attend their first day of the school year at OSU-Tulsa on Monday. It’s the fifth consecutive year OSU-Tulsa has hosted KIPP students.
KIPP Tulsa is part of a national network of schools in the “Knowledge is Power Program” and is operated through a partnership with Tulsa Public Schools. School administrators plan the first day of classes on a university campus to emphasize the idea that KIPP students are starting their education where they will finish – at college.
After an opening day at OSU-Tulsa on Thursday, classes will resume at the Ellis Walker Woods building at 1661 East Virgin Street in Tulsa.
