Earn college credit on service learning trip to South Africa
The OSU College of Education is seeking participants for a three-week travel abroad service learning course in Capetown, South Africa June 21-July 15. Students can earn three credits by enrolling in Practicum in Health & Wellness in Capetown, South Africa.
A partnership with the University of Western Cape, the course will focus on health promotion/disease prevention and the social, cultural, environmental and other factors that contribute to current disease states. Students will learn about health care in South Africa, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and other communicable diseases, alcohol use and non-communicable diseases.
“Students will work with residents and health care workers in Capetown to provide sustainable development actions for community and staff,” said Dr. Amy Bowersock

OSU-Tulsa hosts Tasting the Master’s Way on Friday
Randa Warren will lead guests through a blind tasting of European and California wines from 5:30-7 p.m. in the Conference Center as part of the Philbrook Wine Exploration Series.
One of only 18 female Master Sommeliers in the world, Warren will showcase a variety of simple and complex wines during the sold out event.
The 2012 Wine Exploration Series is a partnership between the Philbrook Museum, OSU School of Hotel & Restaurant Administration, OSU-Tulsa, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar and TulsaPeople.
