Students prepare for commencement ceremony with Graduation Fair
Melanie McClain doesn’t want to worry about anything when she receives her diploma during the OSU-Tulsa commencement ceremony. That’s why she’s attending OSU-Tulsa's Graduation Fair on Tuesday, March 27.
“My family and friends are looking forward to seeing me walk across that stage to receive my bachelor’s degree,” said McClain, sociology major and OSU-Tulsa staff member. “Attending the fair ensures that students like me get everything taken care of prior to graduation. It also provides firsthand knowledge regarding opportunities to further my education.”
McClain is one of hundreds of graduates who can prepare for graduation by attending the fair, which runs from 2:30-5:30 p.m. in the North Hall Lobby. The fair offers the opportunity to check graduation status with Enrollment Services and complete a reservation card for the ceremony.
Students can also purchase caps and gowns and other important graduation items, such as personalized announcements, class rings and diploma frames. OSU-Tulsa Career Services will be available to offer job search advice and the OSU Alumni Association will be on hand to answer questions about membership benefits. Graduate Student Services will also have information available about OSU graduate degree programs.
Graduation Fair attendees can register to win door prizes, which include a professionally-matted diploma frame and other OSU-Tulsa memorabilia.
OSU-Tulsa’s Graduation Ceremony is set for Monday, May 7 at the Pavilion at Expo Square. Visit the OSU-Tulsa Graduation website for more information.
Transfer Day offers one-stop admissions, enrollment opportunity
Students interested in taking classes at OSU-Tulsa this summer or fall can take care of all their admissions and enrollment needs during Transfer Day on Wednesday, April 4.
“Transfer Day provides new students with their first opportunity to enroll at OSU-Tulsa for the upcoming semesters,” said Susan Tolbart, director of recruitment and student development. “Since no appointments are needed, students will have easy and convenient access to all our enrollment-related offices at once to make the transition to OSU-Tulsa as seamless as possible.”
Transfer Day will take place in the Administration Hall Lobby from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2-6 p.m. Students can learn about programs offered at OSU-Tulsa, talk to academic advisors and explore campus during one visit.
“Students will be able to get admitted, enroll in classes and speak with academic advisors,” said Tolbart. “We’re also encouraging students to visit our scholarship and financial aid office to check on transferring their student aid to OSU or to explore scholarship opportunities.”
