Oklahoma Center for Poets and Writers to Host Best-Selling Author Pat Conroy
The Oklahoma Center for Poets and Writers at Oklahoma State University – Tulsa, in partnership with Tulsa Town Hall, will host legendary author Pat Conroy for a special event on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. in the OSU-Tulsa Auditorium.
“Up Close and Personal – An Evening with Pat Conroy” will feature a question and answer session between Conroy and some of Oklahoma’s most famous writers.
Conroy is the author of best-selling novels “The Great Santini,” “Beach Music” and “The Prince of Tides,” which was adapted into a motion picture of the same name starring Barbara Streisand and Nick Nolte.

Student Organization Fair highlights opportunities to get involved
Campus Life will host a Student Organization Fair next week to highlight the many student groups available at OSU-Tulsa. The fair will take place Monday through Thursday from 3-5 p.m. in the North Hall Lobby.
Students will have the opportunity to talk with student group leaders from a variety of organizations. Information about each organization’s mission, meeting schedule and membership benefits will also be available.
There are 17 active organizations at OSU-Tulsa and all bring students together to build skills, make friends, develop networks and enjoy campus and community activities.
OSU Spears School of Business honors OSU-Tulsa faculty
Several OSU-Tulsa faculty members were honored by the OSU Spears School of Business at the school’s recent fall faculty/staff meeting.
Dr. Matt Bowler, associate professor of management, Dr. Dursun Delen, associate professor of management science and information systems, Ali Nejadmalayeri, associate professor of finance, and William C. Schwartz, associate professor of accounting, were recipients of Richard W. Poole Research Excellence Awards.
Dr. Raj Basu, OSU-Tulsa vice president for academic affairs, was presented with the Richard W. Poole Faculty Outreach Excellence Award.
Career Services events help students prepare for job search
OSU-Tulsa Career Services will host a full calendar of free events and workshops Sept. 6 through Oct. 11 to help prepare students for their career goals. The fall calendar of events will conclude with the OSU-Tulsa Career Fair on Thursday, Oct. 11 from 2-4 p.m. in the Main Hall Commons.
Workshops will focus on topics such as job search strategies, the legal aspects of job interviews and business etiquette. Participants can also attend résumé critique sessions and mock interviews to improve their skills.
