Gov. Fallin and Cabinet to Hold Town Hall Meeting at OSU-Tulsa

FallinGov. Mary Fallin and members of her Cabinet will hold a Town Hall Meeting and lunch on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 11:30 a.m. in the OSU-Tulsa Auditorium.

Topics will include issues important to Tulsa and northeastern Oklahoma, including education, the development of Oklahoma’s high tech jobs sector, transportation infrastructure and more. A question and answer session will follow remarks from Fallin and select cabinet members.

The event is free and open to the public and OSU students, faculty and staff are encouraged to attend. A light lunch and snacks will be provided to those attending the meeting.

OSU-Tulsa to Host Scholar Development Information Session

Discove what it takes to compete for national scholarships such as the Truman, Goldwater, Rhodes and Marshall at one of OSU-Tulsa’s Scholar Development Information Sessions on Thursday, Oct. 4 at 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. in North Hall 150.

OSU and TCC students, faculty and staff can attend one of the sessions, hosted by Dr. Bob Graalman, director of OSU Scholar Development and Recognition. Graalman will discuss the various scholastic competitions and how to prepare students to be strong candidates for these national awards. He will also describe some of OSU’s research and travel programs.

Matt Stiner, a 2007 Harry S. Truman Fellowship recipient, and Adrianne Tierney, a 2006 Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship winner, will also discuss their experiences and offer tips to prepare for the application process.

Cowboy Bootcamp for Entrepreneurs starts Oct. 6 at OSU-Tulsa

Cowboy Bootcamp for EntrepreneursOSU will offer its Cowboy Bootcamp for Entrepreneurs starting Oct. 6 at OSU-Tulsa to assist aspiring entrepreneurs in creating successful, growth-oriented businesses.

The bootcamp is a rigorous six-session program presented by the Riata Center for Entrepreneurship in the Spears School of Business. The sessions will take place every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to noon through Nov. 10.

Classes are taught by nationally recognized OSU School of Entrepreneurship faculty members and successful entrepreneurs. Mentoring and coaching also will be provided to individual businesses by the Riata Center consulting staff and MBA students, in partnership with Oral Roberts University.

Tulsa Health Department Partners with OSU-CHS to Open New Health Center

North Regional Health and Wellness CenterThe Tulsa Health Department and OSU Center for Health Sciences will celebrate the grand opening of the North Regional Health and Wellness Center, 5635 N. Cincinnati, on Saturday, Sept. 29 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

OSU-CHS, through OSU Physicians, will provide primary care services ranging from vaccinations and physical exams to OBGYN services and child health exams at a new clinic in the North Regional Health and Wellness Center. Regina Lewis, D.O., family medicine, will provide primary care services for OSU Physicians.

The OSU Physicians clinic at the North Regional Health and Wellness Center will begin seeing patients on Oct. 1.

The community is invited to tour the new facility during the grand opening celebration, meet the staff and receive free wellness screenings. Free refreshments and information booths will be available throughout the day, as well as family-friendly activities, including live music from Soul Revolution, Zumba, inflatable games and a mascot dance off.
