OSU-Tulsa students invited to celebrate OSU Homecoming
Join Campus Life for the Homecoming Happy Hour on Wednesday from 3-4:30 p.m. by the Courtyard Fountain. Students can enjoy free hot dogs from The Dog House.
The event is in conjunction with “America’s Greatest Homecoming Celebration” at OSU-Stillwater. This year’s theme is “Branding a Brighter Orange.”
Homecoming culminates on Saturday, Oct. 19. Events include the Sea of Orange Parade at 8 a.m. prior to the football game between OSU and Texas Christian University. Kickoff is at 11 a.m. and will be broadcast on FOX.
Tulsa TechFest brings information system professionals to OSU-Tulsa
More than 50 national and international experts will speak during the Tulsa TechFest tomorrow at OSU-Tulsa. The one-day technology conference covers a wide range of topics like software and web development, databases, project management, social media and security.
Keynote speakers are Claudio Lassala, an independent software developer, and Brent Schooley, a software developer with Microsoft.
The conference is free and open to the public, but registration is needed. Participants can register in advance online or at the event. Organizers request that attendees bring two cans of food or a $2 donation for the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. Participants are invited to join TechFest speakers and sponsors for Geek Game Night tonight from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in North Hall 150. Registration is required.
Students with big ideas invited to the 2013 Pitch and Poster Competition
The Riata Center for Entrepreneurship in the OSU Spears School of Business invites OSU-Tulsa students to participate in the 2013 Pitch and Poster Competition on Friday, Nov. 15 at OSU-Stillwater.
The competition is open to all OSU students who have a new business idea or product. Before committing to writing a business plan, students can pitch their concept during the competition to get feedback. Cash prizes will be awarded to the three best ideas. Business experience is not necessary to compete.

Students, faculty and staff invited to Unity Mixer tomorrow
OSU-Tulsa Minority Student Services will host a Unity Mixer tomorrow from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Tulsa Room.
Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to attend, make new connections, play games and enjoy music and refreshments.

Submit works of poetry and short stories to the Creative Writing Contest
Poets and writers can enter their original works of art in the seventh annual OSU-Tulsa Creative Writing Contest. The contest is open to currently enrolled students and entries are due Friday, Nov. 22.
Poetry entries should consist of three original poems and short stories should be no more than 20 pages in length. Winners will be announced on Dec. 6 and their work will be published on the OSU-Tulsa Creative Writing Contest website.
Students can fill out a submission form online. Only one entry per student per category will be accepted. Contact the Learning Services Center at 918-594-8232 for more information.
