Meet with advisors, financial aid during Saturday Enrollment Day
OSU-Tulsa will host Saturday Enrollment Day on Aug. 16 to finish admission, enroll for classes and verify financial aid before the start of the fall semester. Admissions, advising and financial aid counselors will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Undergraduate Student Orientation will be at 10:30 a.m. in North Hall 150 and Graduate Student Orientation is set for 11:30 a.m. in the Main Hall Commons. The OSU-Tulsa Bookstore will also be open Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for students to purchase books and other supplies.
In addition to Saturday Enrollment Day, advising and enrollment representatives will be available for students during regular business hours Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday.

Center for Family Resilience to host ‘Power of Fathers’ forum
Fatherhood will be the topic of conversation during a Tulsa community forum hosted by the OSU Center for Family Resilience tonight at 6 p.m. in the B.S. Roberts Room. The CFR has partnered with the Oklahoma Marriage Initiative to present “The Power of Fathers.”
The forum covers topics related to fatherhood, including different forms of father absence, the impact of father absence on children, common notions about father presence and the economic impact of active fatherhood for Tulsa. Participants will be encouraged to share their experiences, ideas and feedback about fatherhood in the Tulsa community.
The discussion will be led by Calvin Williams, director of fatherhood services at Public Strategies, Inc. and co-author of the “On My Shoulders” curriculum.
The Power of Fathers forum is open to the public. Leaders from faith, government, philanthropy, education and social service sectors will be in attendance.
‘Curious’ kids invited to story hour at Guthrie Green
Kids of all ages can join Curious George for a special story time event on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Guthrie Green. The free event will feature Tulsa City Councilor G.T. Bynum reading a popular Curious George story. Curious George himself will also be making a special appearance and posing for photographs.
“A Story Time with Curious George” is being co-hosted by the Oklahoma Center for Poets and Writers at OSU-Tulsa and OETA. The Oklahoma Center for Poets and Writers will provide free copies of Curious George Visits the Library to children in attendance. Following story time, the Red Dirt Rangers will perform a short children’s program.
Story Time at Guthrie Green, a partnership between the George Kaiser Family Foundation and the Tulsa City-County Library, is hosted in conjunction with Food Truck Wednesdays.
Make your BOB shuttle reservations for fall semester
Students, faculty and staff utilizing BOB, the Big Orange Bus, may begin making reservations for the fall semester on Monday. The shuttle service between Tulsa and Stillwater will resume at the start of the semester on Aug. 18.
Reservations may be made by calling 918-594-8332 or visiting the Information Center in North Hall. Tickets are $7.50 for students and $13 for non-students per one-way trip and can be reserved up to a month in advance.
