I, Nicholas Romano,
  am one of two Region 1 (Americas) Representatives on the AIS Council and Associate Professor of Management Science and Information Systems in the Spears School of Business, Oklahoma State University, (OSU-Tulsa) where I have been since 2001.  I
earned my Ph.D. at the University of Arizona with a major in Management Information Systems (Major Advisor: Jay F. Nunamaker, Jr.) and a Minor in Educational Psychology (Minor Advisor: Darrell Sabers).  I was also a Research Scientist at the University of Arizona’s Center for the Management of Information, where I helped to design, develop and evaluate collaborative technologies to improve group productivity.  I have been a Visiting Scholar at the University of Arizona in the summer of 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004. I also worked for IBM as a Systems Programmer.

 

I was ranked 3rd in the World in Electronic Commerce Research Journal Articles in the period from 1998-2004 in a study in the 2006 Business Research Yearbook. My research interests all involve Collaborative Systems and include Technology-Supported Learning, Group Support Systems design, use and facilitation, knowledge creation and management, Collaborative Project and Process Management, Virtual Team Productivity, Electronic Customer Relationship Management, Information Systems Accessibility, Collaborative Usability and Design Evaluation and Customer Privacy and Security.

 

I have published papers in a number of scholarly journals, conference proceedings and practitioner journals including but not limited to the Journal of Management Information Systems, International Journal of Electronic Commerce, Small Group Research, the Journal of the American Society for Information Science, Communications of the AIS, Information Technology and Management, Business Process Management JournalInformation Systems FrontiersInternational journal of eCollaboration, Hawaii International Conference on Systems Sciences, and Association of Management, Americas Conference on Information Systems.
