In our workforce, student and patient population we have the opportunity to interact with people from over 200 countries. In this program, employees will receive the tools they need to promote these relationships while respecting cultural differences.

Options: You can volunteer for an event, activity, or program outside of your own culture which would provide up to six hours of class time. Event must be pre-approved.

Effective 7/1/2010 the OSU Pride Works for Us program has merged with the OSU Pride Works for Our Customers.
The Leaders program will provide opportunities for professional development for new and existing supervisors. Courses will be offered to enhance the soft skills needed to ensure team commitment, employee growth and development while reaching department goals and initiatives.
Incentive: $150

Employees will have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of learning opportunities based upon their areas of needed improvement.
Courses will focus on developing the soft skills supervisors/managers need to be able to demonstrate OSU Pride in their department and growth of their employees.
Available course options will vary each year. Employees are encouraged to plan ahead if there is a particular course of interest they would like to attend.
This certificate program is designed to ensure the success of OSU employees by presenting courses that enable the employee to grow on both a personal and professional level. The program will focus on the development of soft skills to improve employees’ work environment, outlook and growth opportunities.

Upon completing the OSU Pride Works With Me program, employees can enroll in the Continual Learning option.
This option is a final project that requires employees to document the effect of the courses taken over the previous 2 years. Employees will document how they have and currently implement the tools, strategies and concepts learned from classes they have attended. Their supervisor/manager must agree to the implementation of the strategies and noted improvement/changes in the employee’s behavior by signing an acknowledgment form.
The book club is a fun way of meeting and communicating with your teammates to discuss leadership and employee development ideas found within the pages and story lines of each novel. The Book Club allows employees to network with coworkers while enjoying a good book.

The club will meet every other month to review a preselected book. A variety of speakers will be introduced to promote discussions and increase awareness of underlying story lines that can assist us in developing ourselves and our employees. Attendees will be required to read the book prior to attending the Club meeting to ensure group discussion.
Safety is everybody’s business. The safety certificate program will introduce and review procedures and regulations associated with a safe working environment.

Effective 07/01/2010 the Supervisor Toolkit program has merged with the OSU Pride Works In Our Leaders program.
The WIZARD program is based upon the movie The Wizard of Oz. Within a group there is always a leader, but it takes the whole group to make it to the final destination. This program increases teamwork and promotes the values of working together to complete projects. It offers courses that focus on working as a group in conjunction with requiring the employees to think individualistically as to their part on a team.
