No fee will apply for OSU students with a remote testing registration number. Otherwise, a $15 fee will apply to each Compass test administered. The fee can be paid by cash, cashier's check or money order payable to OSU-Tulsa.
Compass exams are offered Monday through Friday. Appointments are preferred to ensure an available computer. Call the Testing Center to make an appointment. Walk-ins are welcome, but a space cannot be guaranteed without an appointment.
Remote testing is available for students who need to take the Compass exam for another college or university. If an examinee's institution is set up for remote testing, the examinee will need to pre-register with the institution and bring the registration confirmation to the exam.
Examinees must present an acceptable photo ID before being permitted to test. Acceptable forms of identification include a driver's license, school I.D., military I.D., health department I.D. or current passport.
Individual Compass tests measure skills in reading, writing and mathematics to help students and academic advisors make course placement decisions.
A score report will be provided following completion of the exam. OSU students should retain a copy and take it with them to New Student Orientation.
OSU students must wait at least one day between tests. If it is necessary to retake the exam, permission must be obtained from the OSU Director of Assessment.
Sample questions and other information about the Compass test may be found on the ACT website.
