Timely Warnings
The OSU-Tulsa Police carefully review all
reports of criminal activity and immediately warn the OSU-Tulsa community of
serious crimes or threats occurring on or near campus. Reports may be received
directly or from University officials who contribute to the Annual Crime
report.
Timely Warnings Policy
To help prevent crimes or serious incidents, the OSU-Tulsa Police Department, in conjunction with other departments on campus, issue Timely Warnings to notify the community members about crimes or other serious incidents in and around our community. In the event that a situation arises, either that, in the judgment of the University President or the Vice President of Finance along with other University officials constitutes an ongoing or continuing threat, a campus wide “timely warning” will be issued. The warning will be issued through the university e-mail system to students, faculty, and staff. Depending on the particular circumstances of the crime, especially in all situations that could pose an immediate threat to the community and individuals, the Police Department may also post a notice on this website.
The purpose is to provide the university community with more immediate notification. In such instances, a copy of the notice is posted in a prominent place in each campus building. Anyone with information warranting a timely warning should report the circumstances to the University Police office, by phone 918-594-8123 or in person at the Police Department located in Main Hall 1401. |
