Wellness Center Open Gym

The OSU-Tulsa Wellness Center invites all new students, staff and faculty to explore the Wellness Center between 2-4:00 p.m. in North Hall room 116. We will have Wellness Attendants on staff to answer any questions you may have concerning the gym, equipment, or its facilities.

Time: 1-4 p.m.

Free Flu Vaccinations at OSU-Tulsa Health Clinic

A certified nurse practitioner will administer free flu vaccinations for OSU-Tulsa students, faculty and staff. Walk-ins are preferred and will be served on a first come first service basis. For more information please contact Galina Michka at 918-594-8920 or Michka@okstate.edu

Health Risk Assessments for Students and Blue Cross Blue Shield Plan Holders

Do you know your health statistics? The OSU-Tulsa Health Clinic will be offering Health Risk Assessments for all students, and BCBS plan holders. Please remember the following the day of your assessment:

• You must bring your most up to date insurance card (BCBS plan holders only).
• Please fast from all foods and liquids 8 hours before your assessment.
• The assessments can take up to 20 minutes so give yourself plenty of time to step out of the office.

Tabata Thursday

Thursdays in February

Want a quick but effective workout? Join Wellness Coordinator Jeremiah Watkins for a 30-minute tabata training workout, Tabata training is when you do 20 seconds of exercise then rest for 10 seconds; You repeat this process for a total of four minutes. Tabata training is great for anyone who likes to work out at their own pace.

OSU in Tulsa Health Fair

Join us for an afternoon filled with health and wellness at the Spring 2013 OSU in Tulsa Health Fair.  Participants will have the opportunity to receive the following services:

• Cholesterol Screening
• Audiology Screening
• Fitness Assessment
• Healthy Cooking Demonstrations
• HIV Testing
• Much more!

All participants will have the option to register for a door prize. Multiple prizes will be given. Healthy food and snack will be provided.

Shed the Weight Contest

This program is designed to give participants motivation to shed unwanted pounds! Teams of 4 people will collectively weight in on Thursday, April 4. Throughout the month of April each Team will do their best to shed as much weight, in a healthy manner, by the end of April. Teams will meet back on Thursday, April 25 to collectively weight in again. Teams will receive random nutrition, health, and exercise tips each week to help with their weight loss. The top 3 teams who lose the most weight will receive a prize!
