Observe moment of silence tomorrow in honor of Veterans Day

OSU alumnus Randall Wantland places flags on Monday as part of OSU-Tulsa's 'Flags for the Fallen' memorial for Veterans Day.

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to observe a moment of silence at 1 p.m. tomorrow on Veterans Day in honor of the American men and women who have died in military service to America. Individuals are asked to observe the moment of silence wherever they are at the time.

In addition, OSU-Tulsa’s ‘Flags for the Fallen’ memorial is on display through tomorrow in a designated area adjacent to North Hall on the north side of John Hope Franklin Boulevard.

Students, faculty, staff and the public placed more than 1,700 U.S. flags to honor those who have given their lives in military operations in the global war on terrorism. Each flag represents four fallen U.S. service members lost since Sept. 11, 2001.

The time of the moment of silence is synchronized with Eastern Kentucky University’s National Roll Call Project, a grassroots effort to make Veterans Day a special time of appreciation and reflection on every campus.
