Honor the memory of MLK Jr. with OSU-Tulsa

OSU-Tulsa students, faculty and staff participate in last year's MLK Jr. Day Parade.

Students, faculty and staff are invited to join Pistol Pete and walk in the 2017 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 16 to honor the legacy of the late civil rights leader.

This year’s parade theme is “Love Conquers Hate.” The parade will begin at the intersection of John Hope Franklin Boulevard and Detroit Avenue and proceed east through campus to Greenwood Avenue. From there, the procession will travel south through the historic Greenwood District and will end at Archer Street and Elgin Avenue. The parade is organized by the Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration Society of Tulsa.

T-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies are optional and may be pre-ordered online at Dupree Sports Tulsa. The order deadline is Monday. Orders will be delivered to OSU-Tulsa and will be available for distribution at a date to be announced. For additional information, contact Nekki Reagan-Neeley or Melanie McClain.
