Summer's a great time to get needed course credits, explore offbeat topics

If you are looking to get ahead in your degree program or to explore specialized topics, there is still time to enroll for the summer semester at OSU-Tulsa. Summer class sessions begin June 12 and July 10.

Summer courses provide the perfect opportunity to get needed credits in less time than an ordinary semester, with four-week and eight-week courses in American studies, history, English, education, business administration, human development and family science, engineering and more.

Dive deeper with courses in Gender and the Middle East, the History of 20th Century Art, Understanding Global Islam and World War I in Modern European Culture.

Summer classes provide convenience for students who live in the Tulsa area and for OSU-Stillwater students who are home for the summer.

And if you have banked-hour credit from your block-rate tuition plan, your tuition and required fees may be fully covered, depending on the amount of banked credit you have. To find out if you have banked hours and whether the course is eligible, contact your academic counselor.

If you are an undergraduate student, complete an Academic Plan form and meet with an academic counselor prior to enrollment. To schedule an appointment with an academic counselor, call 918-594-8271 or visit the Advising Center in North Hall 130.

Graduate students and prospective graduate students with questions may contact their faculty advisor or a graduate coordinator at 918-594-8445.

And finally, students who are interested in checking eligibility for financial aid for summer should fill out a Summer Enrollment Plans for Financial Aid form and have a current 2016-17 FAFSA on file.
