OK-UP offers fall lineup of free parenting workshops beginning Sept. 12

Preparing children for success is focus of upcoming event

Dr. Lucia Ciciolla

Dr. Lucia Ciciolla, OSU assistant professor of psychology, will present a parenting workshop from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Sept. 12 in the B.S. Roberts Room in North Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

During the workshop “Preparing Your Child to Succeed in School and Life,” Ciciolla will outline tools that parents can use to help set the stage for their child’s success. Free dinner and childcare are available with online registration.

Dinner will be served from 5:30-6 p.m. and parking is available in Lots D or E.

Ciciolla earned a doctorate in clinical psychology with an emphasis in child and family science and quantitative science from Arizona State University. She completed an internship at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill School of Medicine in the child-community track. Her interests and research are broadly focused on understanding processes of risk and resilience within the context of the parent-child relationship.

The event is sponsored by Oklahoma’s University for Parents (OK-UP), which is an initiative of the OSU Department of Human Development and Family Science and the Cooperative Extension Service at OSU-Tulsa. To learn more or to register for free childcare or dinner, visit the OK-UP website.
