United Way campaign begins Oct. 6

Fundraising activities include basket auction, chili cookoff

OSU-Tulsa will launch its 2017 United Way campaign at 11:30 a.m. on Oct 6 with a $5 pizza lunch in the Tulsa Room. Faculty and staff will have the opportunity to sign a campaign pledge during the event.

Fundraising activities will continue through Oct. 13, including:

  • Monday, October 9, 2017, from 9 - 10 a.m., Traveling Breakfast Cart
  • Tuesday, October 10, 2017, from 3 - 4 p.m., Traveling Cookie Cart
  • Wednesday, Oct 11, 2017, from 7:30-10 a.m., T-Town Breakfast Tacos
  • Friday, Oct. 13, from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Chili Cook-Off and Silent Auction, Main Hall Commons.

OSU-Tulsa and the OSU Center for Health Sciences have set a combined goal of raising $57,000 for 2017.

"Our goal is to raise 10 percent more than we did last year and for most people that means just $2 to $5 more per paycheck," said Dr. Raj Basu, OSU-Tulsa special project adviser for academic affairs. "A small increase in giving can make a big difference in someone else's life."

OSU-Tulsa’s campaign will support the Tulsa Area United Way’s 60 partner agencies that serve more than 50,000 people in the six-county service area. For more information about the campaign, contact Basu, or Nekki Reagan-Neeley, director of student services.
