Shreffler, Delen receive OSU-Tulsa faculty, research awards

President Howard Barnett honored Dr. Karina Shreffler and Dr. Dursun Delen for their contributions to teaching and research during the OSU-Tulsa graduation ceremony on Monday night.

Shreffler, assistant professor of human development and family science, was named the recipient of the President’s Outstanding Faculty Award, the highest honor awarded to faculty at OSU-Tulsa. Shreffler teaches undergraduate and graduate courses focused on family relationships for the College of Human Sciences. She is a mentor and researcher in the Center for Family Resilience at OSU-Tulsa and also served as a grand marshal at the OSU-Tulsa graduation.

The President’s Outstanding Faculty Award is presented each year at OSU-Tulsa for outstanding contributions in service to students, classroom performance and service to the campus community.

Delen, associate professor of management science and information systems and the William S. Spears chair in business administration, received the inaugural President’s Outstanding Faculty Research Award. Delen has conducted a vast amount of research on practical applications of information systems and has presented lectures on data mining research at conferences around the world.

The President’s Outstanding Faculty Research Award was created to celebrate an OSU-Tulsa faculty member’s research contributions. Nominations are made by faculty members and the winner is selected based on the individual’s cumulative body of research.
