OSU in Tulsa to honor professor for energy conservation efforts

Margaret White

The OSU in Tulsa Energy Education Program will honor Dr. Margaret White, professor of management at OSU-Tulsa, with the Orange Power Award at a special ceremony tomorrow at 3 p.m. in North Hall 253. The Orange Power Award is presented to a faculty or staff member who is a champion of energy conservation on campus.

Angelyn Holmes, energy education manager for OSU in Tulsa, said White teaches Sustainability in Management to students at OSU-Tulsa and practices energy conservation both in and out of the classroom. She volunteered to move her weekend course from North Hall to Main Hall, which is open on weekends, to cut down on energy consumption on the weekends.  Holmes said that White is also committed to shutting down electronic equipment and lights when leaving her office and classrooms.

OSU in Tulsa’s Energy Education Program has saved more than $2 million since it was implemented in 2007. To learn more about contributing to conservation efforts at OSU in Tulsa, visit the Energy Education website.
