OSU-Tulsa to host National Day of Service and Remembrance Volunteer Fair

American and OSU flagsIn honor of Sept. 11, OSU-Tulsa is encouraging students, faculty and staff to participate in the National Day of Service and Remembrance Volunteer Fair on Sept. 10-11 from 3-6 p.m. in the North Hall Lobby.

“We are bringing in several organizations from across Tulsa that have volunteer opportunities for members of our campus community,” said Esmeralda Vega-Ramos, community relations and student development. “Our students, faculty and staff have demonstrated a commitment to the community and this event gives them the opportunity to learn about many different volunteer organizations here in Tulsa.”

Organizations participating in the fair include the American Cancer Society, Central Tulsa Library Adult Literacy Program, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, Center for Individuals with Physical Challenges, Tulsa Day Center for the Homeless, Iron Gate, Big Brothers/Big Sisters and Volunteer Tulsa, Inc.

Fall intramural sports kick off in September

SoccerOSU-Tulsa’s intramural sports offer a fun and competitive way to meet new students and get active. OSU-Tulsa is partnering with Tulsa Community College, OU-Tulsa and NSU-Broken Arrow to offer students a full schedule of events.

There are many sports leagues, tournaments and special competitions scheduled this fall, including flag football, volleyball, soccer, basketball, table tennis, softball, golf and more. OSU Athletics offers discounted tickets to home opener Saturday

OSU athletics ticketsGet set to cheer on your Big 12 and Fiesta Bowl Champion Cowboys this fall. OSU-Tulsa students, faculty and staff can purchase half-priced tickets for the Cowboys home opener against Savannah State this Saturday. Tickets can by purchased at okstate.edu/branchcampus using the promo code Pokes!

Students can still purchase discount tickets to catch all seven home games, which include Big 12 newcomers West Virginia and TCU, as well as Texas, for $210 through the OSU Ticket Office. Faculty and staff can discount purchase tickets to select games.
