Tulsa mayor named speaker for 2017 OSU-Tulsa graduation

The OSU-Tulsa Class of 2016 participate in last year’s ceremony at The Pavilion at Expo Square.

Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum will serve as keynote speaker for the 2017 OSU-Tulsa graduation ceremony on May 15.

The ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. at The Pavilion at Expo Square. More than 430 OSU-Tulsa students will graduate this year.

Tulsa Drillers kick off 2017 season

The Tulsa Drillers will play their first home game of the season at ONEOK Field on Thursday, April 13. As in previous years, OSU-Tulsa will offer free parking to Drillers fans during the upcoming season for Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday games. Fan parking is not permitted Monday through Thursday.

Opening night will begin with a parade at 6 p.m. followed by a 7:05 p.m. game start against the Midland RockHounds. To view the Drillers’ home schedule, visit the team website.

Walk MS to impact campus traffic

Participants in the annual Walk MS: Tulsa 2017 will make their way from Guthrie Green through campus on Saturday. The event begins at 9 a.m. and is scheduled to end at 1 p.m.

Traffic will be delayed on several streets on the walk route, including John Hope Franklin Boulevard and Greenwood and Elgin Avenues. Vehicles will be allowed to travel on those streets during breaks in the walk.

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to find alternate routes to campus. For more information about the walk and to view a map, visit the Walk MS website.
