Students may take the Accounting Gateway exam three times per testing window. Two free exam dates will be designated each semester. A student may also take the exam again during regular business hours for a $10 fee payable by credit card, check or bursar charge.
The Gateway exam is offered during regular Testing Center hours. Walk-ins are welcome, but a space cannot be guaranteed without an appointment. Allow two hours to complete the exam.
To register for access to both the exam and materials online, download and view the self-registration instructions (PDF). Students must then contact the OSU-Tulsa Testing Center to schedule the exam.
Students must present two forms of identification before they will be permitted to take the exam. Acceptable forms of identification include a driver's license, current passport, health department ID, state-issued identification card or military identification. A school ID can be used as a secondary form of identification but not the primary form. Students also need to know their O-KEY username and password.
The Accounting Gateway exam is a two-hour exam that covers topics from the first two Principles of Accounting classes at OSU (ACCT 2103-Financial and 2203-Managerial). The Gateway exam will help determine a student's understanding of accounting principles needed to succeed in upper-division accounting classes. Passing the Accounting Gateway Exam is required prior to enrolling in upper-division courses in accounting at Oklahoma State University..
You may view your score immediately upon completion of the exam.
Students who do not pass the Gateway exam on the first attempt may take the exam two additional times per testing window.
Students registered for the Accounting Gateway exam will be provided access to review materials and practice exams.
